Situated along a high plateau at the top of the grand staircase, the park's high elevations include numerous life communities, fantastic dark skies, and geological wonders that defy description A typical winter visit in 4+ hours after enjoying the bryce canyon amphitheater, visit the southern scenic drive, enjoy longer hikes and take in a ranger program. Most visitors will first be looking for views of the bryce amphitheater, found along the first 3 miles (4.8 km) of the road.
