Got my daughter's back after three weeks in the shop for a warranty job on the water pump and cam tensioner It's got a leak on the driver's side of the motor Throwing it out there but statistically it is probably going to be. Hi guys, i am losing a substantial amount of coolant About 1/2 gallon every 40 miles for 2 days This car has never leaked coolant, i flushed it a year ago and replaced with g12 (or g12 plus, but the correct stuff in any case) and have never added, but check frequently.
The water & coolant was dropped before i started and replaced with g12+ 50/50 mix with water Register or log in now Hello everyone, i looked up some threads about this but was unable to find an answer Maybe i read the wrong ones Anyway, 2002 a4 1.8 stock turbo at about 225k miles. If you still smell coolant, the other primary leak location on the 1.8 is the coolant flange on the back of the block
Parts replaced in the past 2.5 years coolant related How reliable is the vw 1.8t engine Read about common problems found in these engines including water pumps, oil sludge, and more! The difficulty of this job greatly depends on three things The array of different size and length of sockets, extensions, and allen wrenches you have 1/4 drive is best and can be done without flex joints if you have several sizes of extensions along with both shallow and deep sockets
How flexible you are and the size of your hands 3 How patient a person you are impatient or easily. I couldn't figure out my coolant leak so i brought my car to a specialist They pressurized the system and found a steady flow coming from my turbo coolant feed line The rubber line specifically as there was a split in the line This was impossible for me to diagnose as it didn't always leak.
But it could be normal? Coolant leaks towards the back of the engine most commonly come from the plastic coolant flange The coolant flange located at the rear of the audi 1.8t cylinder head is the source of several common coolant leaks Made of plastic, it bolts to the head with two threaded studs I have a 2012 chevy cruze with the 1.8 engine and has about 95k miles on it I recently replaced the coolant tank and the thermostat as coolant was leaking from those two spots
I put the new coolant up to appropriate level and bled the system I took it for a drive and came back to it having no coolant in the tank There’s also a coolant smell when the ac is on I don’t see any visible. Plenty of places where coolant can leak from The picture you have is the coolant flange
Hey guys, i'm tracking down a leak What are some common area's on the 1.8 where coolant leaks are prevelant I have 145,kkk ib the clock I use genuine audi parts & g1. The car only has 130k everything was changed on 110k (turbo, timing belt etc)
