There’s always a chance someone might show up on your doorstep thinking they are doing god’s will by ridding the planet of offenders They also might harass your spouse or kids Traveling is a pain because every state has their own set of inane laws which typically result in a new felony conviction and possibly jail time.
I am a convicted sex offender who spent 7+ years in state & private prison, did treatment, finished parole Wa state has been (sometimes exclusively, depends on your county) allowing registration by certified mail because of covid, so that has been an absolute breeze The registry has created very little stress for us, particularly because hubby is a level 1 so he is not listed online or subject to notification mailers to our neighbors Probation has been a different matter entirely What happens if a sex offender lives in a house and the county builds a school across the street from his house Would he/she be forced to leave his/her home or would he get grandfathered in
I ask this because i worked in a psych ward with male sex offenders, and no female ones I was scrolling through the local sex offenders in my hometown, and there were three males and one female near where my family's kids get off the bus stop I brought it up to my family members, who're now aware.
