As our name suggests, the grace of god shapes who we are as followers of jesus We welcome all to join us Bring your faith and care, questions and worries, joys and doubts We are one in christ striving to do god’s work with our hands. To love the lord your god with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind is to reflect god’s mercy in responding to one’s neighbor That mercy found its most profound expression in the “gospel that has come to you”—namely the life, death, and resurrection of jesus christ
That gospel mercy comes to us again today At the font, at the table, and from the pulpit It is very near to you. Merciful god, you free us to love others,but we neglect our neighbors and follow our own way.you lead us by the spirit of joy and peace,but we turn away from the abundant life you offer.you surround us with patience, kindness,and generosity,but we grow weary in doing what is right.you call us to practice justice and mercy,but we remain entangled in systems of oppressionthat we do not always. Order of worship maundy thursday april 17, 2025 this evening our lenten observance comes to an end, and we gather with christians around the world to celebrate the three days of jesus’ death and resurrection Tonight we remember christ’s last meal with his disciples, but the central focus is his commandment that we live out the promise embodied in this meal
Heal us, free us from sin, and show us the path of life You belong to christ, and through faith, you are united in god’s mercy In the cross of christ, and through the power of the holy spirit, your sins are forgiven Clothed in christ, renewed by grace, you are made whole for the life of the world God is the source of our nourishment Jesus’ invitation to “take and eat
Take and drink” is a repeated one In holy communion, in the word read and proclaimed, in the assembly of the people of god, the dominion of god has come near Your name is written in heaven. Bountiful god, you gather your people into your realm, and you promise us food from your tree of life Nourish us with your word, that empowered by your spirit we may love one another and the world you have made, through jesus christ, our savior and lord, who lives and reigns with you and the holy spirit, one god, now and forever.
