We've been an independent company since our founding in 2008 I want to use duckduckgo in edge but there's no option to switch to it. What you say is 100% true Duckduckgo uses bing to sources much of their search results However, just to be clear on this point, as far as i understand the privacy issue at hand here regarding the sharing of some data, only data through duckduckgo’s web browser is shared with microsoft, and not data from duckduckgo’s search engine and website. As soon as i opened tor, i had the option right next to the duckduckgo searchbar to onionize
