I changed valve cover seal twice, and twice it was leaking What solved the leak for me was use of permatex super 300 sealant, 4 years since it is still dry around it. I replaced the rear main seal when i got my jeep and it seemed like the leak stopped for about a month or so Now the leak is back and getting bigger. Did you happen to notice where specifically, around the seal, it was leaking
I believe it came thru the seal itself If you zoom in you can see a nice drip Lots of oil around the starter as well Also puddles of oil in the bell housing That said, i didn’t feel or see any damage on the seal. I’ve been having a rear main seal leak on my 2012 6 speed manual
Replacing the rear main seal in your jeep wrangler can protect your engine from oil leaks A damaged seal can lead to oil leaks, which may affect engine performance and longevity.
