The fern has a rounded top which increases pressure in a single spot on your arm, becoming less comfortable but also having a smaller contact area if you hate your skin sticking to the cushion after sitting for a while. Fern will still be a great mage regardless of the teacher (she is qualified to be first class mage in that age which shown the potential) But she may be in the unprecedented level (best human mage ever for example) if she accepts serie's offer Unfortunately for serie that fern is just as unhinged as frieren regarding seeing magic as battle.
