It's dry and clean all around, except for the head of that plug (red arrow, edge just barely visible) so must be running down the edge of the block and off that bolt. Greetings, what is the device that is installed above the oil filter It is bolted to the driver side of the engine with at least two bolts (that i can see) I ask because it is leaking oil and i need to replace the gasket
I already tried to tighten up the two visible bolts but that did not help. The dealer serviced the truck 1 month ago and the oil filter had oil on it, so did the aluminum block above the filter that has the 2 engine oil cooling lines going into the top I tightened up the filter wiped everything off and drove for 2 weeks. The most common areas for a leak in a 5.3 engine are rocker cover gasket, oil pan gasket, oil filter gasket, and oil pump gasket If you catch the source of the leak in time, you can save yourself hundreds of dollars spent on replacing whole new parts. High oil pressure can result from using the wrong oil viscosity, a clogged oil filter, or a malfunctioning oil pressure relief valve
