Testing a leaking ‘spider’ fuel injector assembly or a leaking fuel pressure regulator (gm 4.3l, 5.0l, or 5.7l ) can seem impossible, since both of these bad boys are located inside the intake manifold's plenum but they can be tested and it's far easier than you think.

If its a clogged or dirty fuel injector the problem will be there all the time while driving or start up ect Sounds like you have a bad fuel pump regulator if you dont have a regulator it might be the fuel pump that is going out It also sounds like a intake manifold gasket might be leaking Have you done a full tune up already I'll start with that first In this video i demonstrate how to check and test for bad fuel injectors

I show how to conduct a power balance test, test with a noid light and test with a multimeter. The resistance of the fuel injector coil windings will increase as the temperature of the fuel injector increases This allows the truck to crank over without injecting fuel to start The injectors that are stuck open will still allow fuel to enter the cylinder This fuel will spray out the glowplug hole All this test will do is show you which injectors may be sticking

You may see the glowplug saturated when you remove it.
