I have left it plugged into ac power overnight, and in the morning it shows it's complete, but when i unplug it, the screen goes dark and the device loses power. Ive had my ipod nano 4th gen for a while now, more than 5 years, and it hasnt been charged in a long time and i found it and decided to plug it in and charge it and when i do it turns on and shows the screen that its charging, the only problem is that the only way i can use it is if its plugged in, and as soon as its unplugged it dies How can i fix this? Mine has the same problem, unfortunetly You can either replece the battery yourself (there are alot of guides on the internet and video tutorials on youtube, but it's a quite dificult and risky task, only do it if you already have experience soldering/fixing eletronics, especially very small ones like the ipod nano) or try to find a pro or computer fixing store willing to. Before using your ipod portable mp3 player you must charge its battery
You can do this through your computer or using a standard wall outlet If your ipod works only when it's plugged in and charging, several possible explanations exist. But after repair i have same problem, my ipod nano 4st generation only work when plug in, and after searching at google an forum i just get answer to replace new battery Please email if you have different answer because i'm sure my battery still working, My ipod only works when plugged in I always keep my ipod plugged into my doc and it plays fine on there and when it comes off the battery life is great
I tried plugging it into the wall and the pad works fine. If you charge the battery while syncing or using ipod nano, it might take longer to charge If using a portable computer, make sure it is plugged into power and that the lid or display is open.
